House Bill 1576 Coordinated Traffic Signals/Reduce Energy Use
This bill requires municipalities and the department of transportation to coordinate traffic signal patterns to reduce the consumption of energy.

Executive Order 13423, Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management
Signed January 2007, requiring federal agencies to reduce greenhouse gases through a reduction in energy intensity of three percent a year or 30 percent by the end of fiscal year 2015. Federal agencies must ensure that at least half of renewable energy comes from new renewable sources and agencies must reduce water consumption by two percent annually through fiscal year 2015.

(SAFETEA-LU) 2005 - The act authorizes the Federal surface transportation programs for highways, highway safety, and transit for the 5-year period 2005-2009.
