N.C. State University: Recycling and re-use of organic material on campus has been a common practice at N.C. State for nearly 20 years. Currently, all of the yard waste collected on campus is taken to a compost site where it is ground into mulch. The amount of organic materials diverted from the waste stream in 2003/2004 was almost 413 tons. Click here for an excerpt from Campus Environmental Sustainability Assessment. |
